Country: Pakistan 🇵🇰

Awais Ali Sheikh is a Pakistani wildlife photographer and filmmaker based in Portugal, whose work explores the intimate relationship between wildlife and the landscapes they inhabit.

Awais is a contributor to National Geographic, WWF, and other conservation organizations. His work has received multiple national and international awards and has been exhibited and published by leading wildlife and conservation platforms.

Born and raised in Pakistan, he developed a lifelong fascination with the high mountains of the Karakoram, where his enduring passion for snow leopards continues to shape his creative journey.

Entirely self-taught, Awais has been dedicated to wildlife photography since 2009. Over the years, he has refined his craft through field experience, studying the work of renowned nature photographers, and participating in international wildlife photography competitions, all of which have shaped his artistic vision and storytelling approach.

His work focuses on authentic behaviour, environmental storytelling, and rarely witnessed moments, portraying wildlife within the landscapes they call home rather than as isolated subjects. By revealing how animals interact with each other and their environment, he strives to create work that reflects both the beauty and resilience of the natural world while always respecting the animals and their habitats.

Through his work, Awais hopes to inspire a deeper appreciation for nature and encourage the protection of the wild places that continue to make these extraordinary stories possible.
