Award winning wildlife and conservation photographer and journalist Sergio Pitamitz has French and Italian double citizenship. He is a National Geographic Image Collection contract photographer. On assignments he has traveled in more than 100 countries in all the seven continents, from Americas to Australia, from Arctic to Antarctica, from Africa to Asia and Middle East. He is a contributor of the Italian edition of National Geographic Magazine and his images and stories have appeared in many publications including BBC Wildlife, Terre Sauvage, Geo, The New York Times, Time, Newsweek, Figaro Magazine, Condé Nast Traveller, as well as other National Geographic publications and website. He works as conservation photographer for ARCA -Animal Research Conservation in Action, an NGO dedicated to several in-situ conservation projects worldwide. Sergio has received recognitions in many international photography contests such as Nature’s Best, National Wildlife, Oasis and Audubon. He won the NPPA - National Press Photography Association “Best of Photojournalism 2016 - Environmental Category”. He is a Swarovski Optik Nature Ambassador and Panthera Partner Photographer.
