Country: Germany 🇩🇪
Volker Gehrmann is a Berlin-based aerial photographer and drone pilot working as KarachoBerlin. For over ten years he has photographed from above — streets becoming lines, parks becoming texture, the everyday becoming composition.
He works closely with artists, documenting installations and performances from the air, sometimes flying the drone as part of the performance itself. His editorial work has taken him to vineyards on Pico in the Azores for a Spanish wine magazine, over Berlin’s public swimming pools, and above Germany’s castles and palaces for a television documentary.
He also brings extensive experience in nature conservation, flying in protected areas alongside environmental organizations and public authorities, and has documented urban gardening projects and collaborated with architects and visualization studios on aerial imagery for planning and presentation.
