Country: Netherlands 🇳🇱
What started out as a hobby drone-obsession with self-build FPV drones years ago, grew out to be the start of my career as (drone)photographer! To be able to create stable pictures with high quality, I transferred from FPV to a Mavic Air early 2018. Although having the drone for many years, my first high quality drone images started to come around the end of 2019/start of 2020 whilst traveling throughout Oceania.
Being forced to go back home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I returned home just in time for quarantine. During the pandemic (I know, very original) I finally found time to pick up the pace and capture my home surroundings in The Netherlands. Having learned from my travel photography and having an increased respect for the flatlands after my return, I’ve had a bless capturing it all with my own new-found compositions and perspectives.
Soon after, some local newspapers picked up my dronephotography leading to more exposure. It this point it became clear to me I should take it more seriously. By the end of 2020 I picked up my first camera and started a business in drone and on-foot photography, and halfway through 2021 I decided to make it my fulltime job. Goodbye to working in an office.
I still figuring out what shape my business will take in the future, but for now I’m having fun creating and trying new things. I would love to combine travel and photography once again, professionally. But most of all, I can’t wait for what’s to come!
Cheers, Mike
