Helga Urbán

Country: Hungary 🇭🇺

I’m Helga Urbán from Miskolc, Hungary. I have been passionate about photography since my childhood, and my love for nature began even earlier — it has always been a constant presence in my life. This deep connection led me to study Biology at the University of Debrecen, and it continues to shape both my worldview and creative work.

For me, photography is not about competition, but about expression. Still, I value feedback deeply, which makes me proud of the recognition my images have received in both national and international nature photography contests. From the beginning, I’ve been instinctively drawn to capturing fleeting moments in nature — not as a documentarian, but with a desire to express something artistically meaningful.

Nature conservation is close to my heart. I believe that we can only protect what we know and love, and through my images I hope to help others discover and appreciate the beauty of the natural world. Photography is my form of self-expression — a medium that constantly evolves with me.

In aerial photography, I see endless possibilities. Drones allow us to view landscapes from entirely new perspectives, and I’m especially drawn to unusual shapes, textures, and patterns found from above. While I don’t stage my photographs, I do try to plan my outings — though more often than not, instinct and improvisation take over. That’s when photography becomes art for me.
