Aref Tahmasebi

Country: Iran 🇮🇷

My name is Aref Tahmasebi, and I am an amateur photographer from Ilam, Iran. I began my journey in photography in 2014, not as a profession but as a passion and a way of life. Alongside my career as a mechanical engineer and dental prosthetics technician, I have always tried to capture moments that may only exist once before they disappear.

I work across different genres, including minimalism, street, nature, landscape, sports, and social documentary photography. Over the years, I have received more than 96 international medals, ribbons, diplomas, and awards in prestigious competitions such as HIPA (COP28), Green Storm, ReFocus, NIPA, IPA, PX3, BIFA, and TIFA.

Professional mountaineering is an important part of my life, and nature has always been my greatest source of inspiration. I believe photography is the art of preserving a moment that is passing by—a moment that may never happen again. Everything I have learned has come from nature, and through my photographs, I hope to share the beauty and perspective I experience with others.
