Female workers drying fish in the yard in Ba Ria Vung Tau. Fish is dried to keep for a long time to be used as food without the need for a freezer. Drying is the oldest way of storing food by mankind. Dried fish can be kept for years without spoiling. The drying method is quite rudimentary but effective, often used by fishermen to keep the catch if not consumed in time.
