"Jallikattu" or bull embracing is an age-old traditional sport that is practiced to celebrate the vigor of the bulls. It's practiced during the festival of Pongal and it dates back to 200 BCE. A bull is let free in a semi-open arena, and the participants have to embrace it and hold on to its hump for a certain amount of time to win.
